SOCIAL MEDIA: An Insightful Commentary on the Web Giant and its Integration within CMS
What a show – I must say! Despite a few setbacks (including the re-scheduling of the show due to Hurricane Sandy) for one of the most anticipated shows on CMS-Connected on Social Media – the show turned out so well. Thank you to all involved in making it such a success – a special shout-out to our hosts – Tyler Pyburn and Seth Gottlieb , and our special guests – Allen Bonde and Stephen Medve.
The show covered a lot of aspects of social media and its importance in the digital marketing era we live and operate in.
To start off, Seth Gottlieb, Solutions Manager, Global Marketing Operations, at Lionbridge – did an amazing job filling in for our regular Host – Scott Liewehr of the Digital Clarity Group. Seth made some great points on topics such as:
- Controlling content on the Internet
- Mobile: Disruptive for Content Management
- What Customers Want "On and Through" Social Media ( A research by Adobe )
Our special guest on the show – Allen Bonde – Chief Marketing Officer at the Pulse Network provided the viewers with insightful information on social media and its place within our industry. We got to hear one of the most intriguing statements from him:Content = Currency! Allen also re-enforced an important message about customer validation: have your customers tell your story. Last but not the least, Allen also highlighted that “Video Marketing” through social channels also allows for active customer engagement.
In our Spotlight Segment, we had Stephen Medve of Falcon Software review one of the most commonly used open Source platforms - Drupal. He highlighted one of the main challenges faced by open-source platform users: lack of support. However, he said that companies like Acquia can help those looking for support on Drupal. Stephen in his review mentioned some pros and cons of Drupal and shared some deep thoughts and analysis with the viewers.
Our most popular round, Rapid Fire, had Seth Gottlieb comment on some fiery topics including:
- API’s to take over Web Content Management
- Enterprise Content Management being Broken
