commercetools Launches Operations in the Asia-Pacific Region

New Singapore headquarters team will showcase the commercetools platform at Seamless Asia June 25-27

Munich (Germany) / Singapore / Durham (USA) – June 24, 2019 – Following its $17 million investment in global expansion announced last year, commercetools today officially launched its Asia-Pacific hub in Singapore to fulfill the company’s long-term strategy of growing its business globally, expanding international consulting and support services, and advising/supporting clients on commerce projects in the Asia-Pacific region. With the new office, commercetools provides DevOps, technical support and training, sales and marketing and 24-hour support to Asia-Pacific customers.

"We know we have to prove ourselves in this region," says Dirk Hoerig, CEO of commercetools. "We‘ve grown at an exceptionally high rate over the past few years with new offices in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and we have attracted some of the world‘s most important brands, manufacturers and distributors as customers. With these successes, we are now well-positioned technically and organizationally for similar positive growth in the Asia-Pacific market, which is particularly suitable."

With Clara Lim spearheading regional efforts as Managing Director Asia Pacific, commercetools has gained a top local executive with deep knowledge of the market and technology landscape in the Asia-Pacific region. Clara is an experienced Leader with accomplished tracks of close to 2 decades working in the tech software industry predominantly in the eCommerce landscape. Prior to commercetools, Clara was the Vice President Sales with SP eCommerce, SAP hybris and she has held several management positions in her career portfolio.

"Online shopping and the use of electronic wallets are becoming standard in our region," Lim explains. "Thanks to our agile headless architecture, we can capitalize on the strong growth in commerce projected over the next three-to-five years because commercetools offers very good ROI compared to conventional SaaS or on-premise models. In addition, we can rely on an established partner network and a portfolio of renowned customers in Europe and the United States. I‘m convinced that our solution will achieve success in the Asia-Pacific region.“
