CMS Review, product review, WCM

CMS-Connected is pleased to announce that our latest edition of A Fair Review of the top Web CMS Platforms will be released Monday, January 20th, 2020. For this edition, we've methodically compiled relevant insight to give you, the consumer, the best possible resource for deciphering which Web Content Management (WCM) platform will fulfill your specific needs.

Why is it called 'A Fair Review'?

Some time ago, our specialists identified an irksome pattern that has created a significant gap in the marketplace. The large, recognizable consulting firms that put out annual reviews and reports have become stale — the same group of vendors with repetitive content. The smaller consulting firms are unacquainted with what it takes to assess a digital platform properly. They also lack the hands-on experience with how to deploy and maintain those different platforms, let alone fully comprehend, from a customer's perspective, what is essential in the due-diligence stage.

CMS-Connected reviews focus on apples-to-apples assessments. We do not compare Kentico with Oracle, or Automattic with Opentext and we avoid featuring vendors that have little, to no, presence in the North American market space. We also have an advantageous and unique focus on the implementation partner side of the equation.

Finally, to the benefit of readers and consumers alike, the valuable commentary in CMS-Connected's Fair Review's is free and available to all. We strongly feel that's important when it comes to selecting a WCM for your organization. It can be overwhelming to try and discern all of the current and unbiased information or reviews of the multitudes of software and systems that best provides for your — and your customers' — optimal digital experience.

What We Will Cover

For CMS-Connected's latest edition, we retained the process from our first reviews and enhanced it further to report the most beneficial information possible. Points covered will be:

  • Company information

  • Demographic and deployment history

  • Position in the market

  • Latest software versions and licensing types

  • Full feature lists

  • Commerce capabilities

  • Support and Training processes

  • Strengths, weaknesses, and key differentiators

  • Technology partners

  • Notable customers

On top of that vital information, we will include direct, and exclusive insights gathered interviews with each of the vendors featured. Our senior analysts have also compiled a performance guide of categories that rate each vendor's platform features to enable readers to assess which vendors are top-rated in the areas that matter most for their organization.

This year we will be reviewing these top mid-market-level platforms:

  • Acquia

  • Agility CMS

  • Bloomreach

  • CoreMedia

  • Crownpeak

  • e-Spirit

  • Episerver

  • Kentico

  • Progress Sitefinity

  • Sitecore
